What health problem were you suffering from before you came in our clinic?

On February 10, 2001 on a Saturday afternoon while outside in front of my house I reached down to shut off the water faucet when I bump my head on the window frame. The following day I noticed that my spots in my vision. My vision loss was worsening with each passing day. On Monday, February 19, 2001 I consulted the optometrist concerning my vision problem. According to the optometrist, he said I had inflammation of the optic nerve.

February 24, 2001 Saturday both of my legs were paralyzed and I had loss of bladder control. By 2 am Sunday, I had loss my vision completely. I was admitted at the hospital for the following symptoms: complete vision loss, paralyze from the chest down, and loss of bowel and urinary control. Since the doctor at the hospital did not know what was wrong with me they went ahead and diagnosed me with Multiple Sclerosis (Stupid).

How has Chiropractic Care affected your life?

My friend Tony Montes had been seeing Dr. Lai for quite some time and told me that may be chiropractic can help me. My parents were very skeptical if chiropractic can help at all. But Tony told me what do I have to lose. February 27, 2001 Dr. Lai and Tony visited me at the hospital that night. Dr. Lai told me that he would check my neck and see if there was nerve pressure in my neck. He found what he suspected to be the cause of my problem. With my consent, Dr. Lai adjusted my neck.

The following morning the doctor checked my vision with the light pen and I can see the light. I also regain my bowel and urinary control again. All these change with one adjustment.

March 1, 2001 Dr. Lai and Tony had returned that night for a second visit. When they walked in the room I can see the both of them with my very own eyes again. Dr. Lai checked me and adjusted me again.

During the month of March I was in rehab in Santa Barbara.

Upon being release from rehab care, I consulted Dr. Lai for to continue my chiropractic care. He told what it would take and that there was no guarantee. When I first started chiropractic care at the clinic, April 19, 2001, I could not still move my legs, my vision had improved and I stilled had bowel and urinary control.

Two weeks into my care I started to move both of my legs. Now at one month later, I had started walking with assistance. My hope is to walk again and be a normal person just like everyone else. I know I will get there, I faith and belief. More important Dr. Lai has a lot faith in what he does.

How would you explain Chiropractic to another person?

We all can be skeptics when looking from the outside in. When you experience what I experience through chiropractic you will never view chiropractic the same again. Dr. Lai told me by bumping my head, it cause nerve pressure in my neck. Thanks to Tony, Dr. Lai, and chiropractic I have a positive outlook for the future.
